Graham Walker, adjunct faculty in mechanical engineering, passed away on January 17, 2022. He taught full time at Manhattan College and served as an adjunct Professor in our department for many years, teaching courses in product design for manufacturing, and computer-aided manufacturing.

Professor Walker earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Strathclyde University in Glasgow, Scotland and earned his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering at Southampton University, Southampton, England. He worked as a Research Engineer in the Courant Institute of New York University, and in 1986 began his academic teaching career at Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY. He returned to New York City in 1993 to teach at Manhattan College in the Bronx, where he was a Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department. He began teaching at Columbia in 2002.

Professor Walker's love of education manifested in his work as a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Manhattan College, where he mentored students and colleagues alike throughout his career, and conducted research on topics in orthodontics and biomechanics. In his classes at Columbia, Prof. Walker was a dedicated teacher whose classes were popular and always well received.

Graham is survived by his wife, Agnes, his sons John, Martin (Jenny) and Christopher (Colleen), as well as his granddaughter Aoife, the joy of his life.
