Cody Paige Joins ME Faculty, Bringing Cutting‑Edge Research from Antarctica to the Moon
We are pleased to welcome new Aerospace Professor Cody Paige! Cody works on the rapid deployment of technologies to enable human space exploration. Her most recent research took her to Antarctica where she was testing the use of 3D imaging alongside ambient noise tomography, digital acoustic sensing, and a Lunar drill to create a comprehensive 3D map of structures beneath glaciers and frozen surfaces. This digital twin technology will be applied to Lunar surface exploration in the search for water-ice. Mapping water-ice on the Lunar surface will allow long-term human habitation on the Moon as well as enabling future missions to Mars. This work was in collaboration with Fleet Space Technologies, Honeybee Robotics and NASA.
