This is everything you need to know about control engineering … don’t divide by zero!" This was the advice I was given on the first day of my first internship and I remember it because of how profoundly unhelpful it was.

After 17 years in industry designing spacecraft guidance, navigation, and control systems at Boeing and Planetary Resources, this talk is my version of that 4-word answer. Join me for a fun (and hopefully helpful) discussion of what control engineering is and how all of the theory comes together to build complex engineering systems.
Brian Douglas is a control systems engineer based in Seattle, WA. He's the founder of Engineering Media LLC which specializes in making complex ideas intuitive and easy to understand. Brian provides free, accessible engineering education materials online through his YouTube series, Control Systems Lectures, and through his contributions to the Mathworks MATLAB Tech Talk series..

Prior to Engineering Media, Brian spent 11 years at The Boeing Company developing satellite and aircraft guidance, navigation, and control systems and 4 years at Planetary Resources leading the ADCS and systems engineering team.
